You will see an E470 error when the outdoor unit EEPROM is either faulty, missing or blank.
The outdoor unit EEPROM is a small chip that holds model specific data. The data held on the EEPROM chip gives the outdoor main PCB the parameters that it needs to operate correctly.
Most Samsung outdoor main PCB’s will service multiple models, the EEPROM chip holds the model specific data for a given unit. When replacing an outdoor main PCB, either a pre programed, model specific EEPROM needs to be fitted to the new outdoor PCB, or the EEPROM from the old main PCB (most models have an EEPROM that is removable from the PCB, some older models only have a service EEPROM) needs to be removed and fitted onto the new part.
